Woman roasts Hinge runner for half-marathon time

Don’t want to get rejected on a dating app because of your running performances? After a recent TikTok went viral, it might be best to keep it out of your dating profile entirely. Last month, Dallas’s Melissa Konig shared a video of her friends swiping on Hinge together, stumbling across a profile of a runner–and doing an investigative Internet search for his performance. “Finding a man’s half-marathon time from his bib number from a pic on his Hinge profile,” the caption read.

The man, Tanner, had used a prompt as a conversation starter, which read, “Green flags I look for: you bully me.” As a response, the women did a deep dive to research his half-marathon performance, only using his first name and the information on his bib, before replying, “2 hours, 6 minutes and 53 seconds is so slow.”

Konig noted in the comments that none of them have run a half-marathon themselves–and are thus not in a position to actually judge anyone’s time. “We were just following his prompt and being funny,” Konig wrote in the comments. “I fully admit it would take me 12 hours to finish one, LOL.”

A mixed response

The comment section had a jumble of mixed reactions. “That’s actually a really good time,” one user wrote.

“Now I feel bad about my half-marathon time,” another chimed in.

Others agreed that the time was slow. “I ran a half in 1:42 when I was 42 with three little kids–so you’re not wrong,” the comments continued, while other users simply asked desperately for updates on Tanner’s response. In a follow-up post, Konig revealed that Tanner himself had done some stalking, rejecting the follow request from the women and even getting his sister to view one of their LinkedIn profiles. So, it’s safe to say Tanner did not appreciate the bullying like he said he would.
