On Thursday night, under the glow of Toronto’s skyline at STACKT Market, Canada Running Series (CRS) revealed the 2025 TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon medal. This year’s design is an eye-catching tribute to the city’s rich street and art culture.
This year’s medal features a vibrant depiction of Graffiti Alley, a hidden Toronto landmark nestled in the Fashion District just south of Queen Street West between Spadina Avenue and Portland Street. Officially known as Rush Lane, the alley spans three blocks and showcases an ever-evolving gallery of urban street art.
Over the past few years, the race’s medal has featured various Toronto landmarks, from the CN Tower and City Hall sign to last year’s nod to Union Station, the city’s transportation hub. This year’s edition continues that tradition by celebrating Toronto’s creative side. The 2025 medal was designed by Toronto-based graffiti artist Durothethird, known for his colourful, community-driven work, in collaboration with CRS graphic designer Inge Johnson.
Runners in the half-marathon and marathon will pass through the Fashion District and near Graffiti Alley around the 6 to 7-kilometre mark, making the medal a fun keepsake of the race experience.
“TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon race weekend not only brings the world to Toronto, but showcases our vibrant city to the world,” said Charlotte Brookes, national race director for Canada Running Series. “The 2025 design highlights the dynamic streets that inspire and challenge over 30,000 participants each October. We’re thrilled to celebrate Toronto’s creative spirit through this year’s medal.”
Though race day is still three months away, the 2025 TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon is already setting records. Both the marathon and half-marathon distances are sold out, the earliest time in event history. If you’re eager to be a part of the race weekend, spots are still available in the Toronto Waterfront 5K scheduled for Oct. 18.

Scheduled for Oct. 18-19, the 2025 event marks the 36th edition of Canada’s premier fall running event, which serves as the grand finale of the Canada Running Series. Since 2017, the marathon has also doubled as the Athletics Canada national championship race and Olympic trials.
