Whatever the weather. Morning, noon and night. We lace up our trainers.
Because how can we refuse when their tail wags and they give us that hopeful and expectant look. Is it time to go out?
Every day, all around the world, dogs motivate us to get out and move. There are no excuses when it’s time for walkies, and when we get out in nature, to walk, jog, run or play fetch, we feel better physically and mentally.
ASICS has shared research that 65% of owners say their dog is their primary motivator to get out and move, 79% of dog owners feel less stressed after moving with their dog, and 81% say moving with a dog improves their mental health.
Knowing this, ASICS have announced their newest ambassador as Felix the Samoyed. They are the first sports brand to sign a dog as an ambassador!
Keep on reading to find out how your dog could also become an ASICS ambassador.

We love this, so we asked around the TRC Club and spoke to some friends about their stories of how dogs can be a great motivator to get outside.
Jonathan (and Hubble) said: “Personally I see a big boost to mental and physical health from having a dog, and that daily walk is the perfect opportunity to switch off a little, listen to a podcast and get some fresh air, especially when most of my day is sitting at a desk.”
Emma (and Fern): “Even if I’m tired after a hard day, seeing her look at me and jump up and down is all the motivation I need to head outside. I know that taking the time for just me and Fern will leave me (and her!) feeling so much better. It’s my time to myself, and that’s so important to me. She’s also so fast and trying to keep up with her has actually helped my running!!”
Lee-Ann: “My husband does all the dog walking and it has motivated him to do longer walks. When my husband was ill I was on dog walking duty. When walking the dog I decided to try a few sprints with him. He loved it! Whenever I said “are you ready?” He looked at me all excited and started running!”
Jess (and Hunter): “I love running with Hunter! It means I don’t ever think about pace or anything like that, and I’m just going wherever he wants to go. His energy definitely encourages me to run further, plus he loves it so much and seeing him happy makes me happy!”

ASICS MIND’S BEST FRIEND
These stories and experiences are something that ASICS has recognised as being really important to the physical and mental health of so many people.
Now ASICS is inviting people to nominate their own dog to become an official ASICS Mind’s Best Friend Ambassador.
You can nominate your dog at asics.com, where they’re encouraging the world to share how their dog motivates them to move. Every social media post shared with the hashtag #MindsBestFriend will help raise funds for mental health charities.
If your furry friend has been a great motivator to get you moving, then it’s time to celebrate them and share their story! Dogs featured will have their stories shared on ASICS’s channels and dogs will receive their own Ambassador’s kit, plus their human will get some ASICS shoes!
You can nominate your dog to become an ASICS Mind’s Best Friend ambassador here!
