Courtney Dauwalter has revealed her next race – and a prime target for 2026.

The ultrarunning GOAT has won pretty much everything she’s entered in the last few years, including all of trail running’s biggest events.

But she took herself out of her ‘comfort’ zone last time out when tackling the 256-mile Cocodona 250 and despite leading the overall standings after 77 miles, she registered a rare DNF as she exited the race at mile 108.

‘Try again’

However in typical style she vowed to use the experience as a building block, saying on Instagram: “Unfinished business can be a great springboard for the next thing.💥”

And now we know two things, firstly what that ‘next thing’ is – and secondly that she’s going back to Cocodona.

In terms of the latter she simpy said: “Cocodona 2025: Did Not Finish.

“Cocodona 2026: Try Again 💥🎉”

That was alongside a screenshot of her confirmed entry for the race start on May 4th 2026.

Lavaredo up next

And as to her next race, that will be the Lavaredo 120k on June 27th, an event that is part of the UTMB World Series.

It starts and finishes at the Cortina d’Ampezzo ski resort in the Italian Dolomites and has an elevation gain of 5,800 meters.

It begins at 11pm and features some potentially breathtaking views around sunrise towards the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, three distinctive battlement-like peaks.

A spectacular race – and now graced with ultrarunning royalty.
