On Tuesday, the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) revealed the cut-off time for the 130th Boston Marathon, set for Monday, April 20, 2026. The cut-off time required to secure a spot in the race is lower than in previous years; those who exceeded their age group qualifying standard by four minutes and 34 seconds or more have been accepted.
According to the B.A.A., the race saw the second-highest number of applicants in its history with 33,267 runners applying, only behind last year’s total of 36,393. Out of 33,267 applicants, 24,362 runners have been accepted or are in the final stages of verification, leaving more than 8,900 athletes who ran under the standard without a spot.
